Osric Seelye * was the husband of Deborah Leiter, the father of Mildred Seelye, the father-in-law of James Dearborn II, and the grandfather of Hilary, Darla, and Mary Dearborn.

Seelye's give name is of Anglo-Saxon origin, compounded from the elements os (meaning "god") and rice (meaning "powerful"), and was the name of several Anglo-Saxon kings. He shares his surname with Julius Hawley Seelye, who is credited with the creation of the Latin Honors system.
