Repello furtificus is an incantation meant to repel thieves by making an attractive object look unattractive.

Lilith Grimm used the spell in August of 2007 to make her car look "dull and rust-eaten," "warped and deformed by dents and gouges" with "One tire deflated and the others frayed and unraveled, cracks spread like a spiderweb across the windshield, and the license plates ... so caked with dirt that they were almost unreadable."

EtymologyEdit

  • repello (Latin): "keep off, hold back, ward off"
  • furtificus (Latin): "thievish"
