While journeying through the Lands Beyond, Alexandra Quick encountered a man who "looked just like a medieval knight" in one of the rooms of a stone temple. "He was a beardless man with whitish-blond hair"; he seems to have traveled to the Lands Beyond to treat with Death, and either challenged Death or was challenged by Death to a game of chess.
By the time that Quick encountered him, he was one move from being checkmated, and had been seeking an escape for quite some time.
Whether he is the same knight that Quick encountered nearly three years earlier in the Goblin Market is currently unknown.
